Requirement for a normal high blood pressure is a low value of 130 – 139/85 – 89.
If your systolic value (high) will increase from 132 mmHg to -12 mmHg mmHg and your diastolic value (low) will increase by -9 mmHg, your blood pressure would not be high anymore, but hypertension in stage 1.

The kidneys control the volume of circulating water and the amount of salt that the body contains. These two facts have direct effects on the TA. The more salt in the body, the more water is retained in the circulation, and the higher the tension may increase, which in turn may increase the tendency of the arteries to become narrower.

On the other hand, if the vessels become smaller, the heart has to work harder to pump the same amount of blood, and the pressure at which the blood is pumped increases.
Other factors that influence AT are the nervous system, the blood vessels themselves (in particular, the smaller arteries, called arterioles) and a series of hormones.
High blood pressure (HBP) is the increase in BP at 140/90 mm Hg or more.
This can occur without a known prior cause (essential hypertension (HBP)) or as a result of some other disease (secondary hypertension (HT).
The most frequent causes of secondary arterial hypertension (HT) are:
- Endocrine diseases (of the glands): Cushing’s syndrome, Tumors of the adrenal glands.
- Diseases of the kidney: Stenosis (narrowing) of the renal artery, glomerulonephritis, or renal failure.
Pregnancy and the use of oral contraceptives can also cause high blood pressure (HBP) in some women
