menopause quotes، Today we know that menopause is a physiological state or an evolutionary period more in women; in fact it is a stage of chronic deficiency that lasts sometimes for more than 20 years.

As far as I know, a longitudinal and descriptive study was carried out on the stages of Climacteric and Menopause; from a universe of 113 women, a sample of 60 women was taken in the ages between 45 and 55 years, which constitutes 67.8%, all belonging to the Medical Office # 197 of the Hermanos Cruz Community Teaching Polyclinic of the Pinar del Río municipality; in the months from January to July 2003.

For these purposes, the necessary rapport was created and we proceeded to the application of a survey where variables such as climacteric and menopause concepts, clinical manifestations presented, were analyzed. ways by which they obtained the information, among others.

The data obtained by percentage analysis were taken to arithmetic tables. Sexual relations were mainly affected by the decrease in libido, the information channels were those of mass dissemination (radio and television), as well as nurses and doctors; the majority believed necessary the disclosure of the subject, among others.

At the end of the survey, the women were offered a series of recommendations with the purpose of making this stage more pleasant and better tolerated by them. the information channels were those of mass dissemination (radio and television), as well as nurses and doctors; the majority believed necessary the disclosure of the subject, among others.

ABSTRACT

Nowadays it is known menopause is a physiological condition of another natural change in women, it is a stage of chronic deficiency which can last even 20 years, that was why a longitudinal and descriptive research on the topic was carried out. Out of 113 women a sample by women between the ages 45 and 55 (67.8%) was analyzed.

All women belonged to Doctor’s Office (No. 197) at Hermanos Cruz Outpatient Clinic in Pinar del Rio Municipality during the months of January – July 2003. To achieve the purposes of the necessary report was developed and a survey was conducted where the variables were evaluated

concepts of climacteric and menopause, clinical manifestations presented, sources of information, among others. Data were following a percentage analysis and recorded in arithmetical charts. Sexual intercourse was mainly affected due to the decrease in libido; sources of information were mass media (radio and television) nurse and doctors, the majority of patients considered necessary to publicize the topic and others. At the end of the survey a series of recommendations was offered to women with the aim or turning this stage more pleasant and tolerable.

INTRODUCTION

The woman is the only animal on earth overwhelmed by menopause, since all animals can reproduce virtually until the last day of their lives, says Dr. Eduardo Cáceres Álvarez. However, this peculiar inequality did not always exist. Until year 1 of ne or shortly after, the life expectancy was 33 years and the woman, like the other animals of different species, died with her ovarian functions in full swing. one

By the sixteenth century, the age of menopause was 44 years and life expectancy was 48 years, so doctors at that time did not have to worry about the treatment of the menopausal woman. Currently the woman exceeds 75 years of age with relative ease. one

More recent publications point to the Climacteric as the period between complete sexual maturity and loss of ovarian functions, and Menopause as the last menstruation controlled by the ovary, and its time of appearance is established retrospectively after 1 year of existence of amenorrhea in the climacteric. two

The climacteric is divided into two stages: Peri menopause (from the onset of climacteric symptoms to menopause) and the post menopause (stage that extends from menopause to the age of 59 years – and which in turn is subdivided into :

Early age: Which refers to the first years of post menopause.
Late age: From 5 years after menopause to 59 years.

Other authors point out in addition to the Natural Menopause (explained above), that there may be the Early Menopause that is the natural menopause that occurs before 40 years of age and the Artificial Menopause as irreversible gonadal damage induced by radio or chemotherapy or surgical exeresis .

It has been our interest to perform this research to check the level of knowledge that some women have in the ages between 45 – 55 years of Medical Clinic # 197 of the Community Teaching Polyclinic Hermanos Cruz on climacteric and menopause, as well as the changes that are evident both physiologically, physically and psychologically. Also show that this period only represents a difficult stage in the life of a woman and not a disease, 3 that can be overcome based on much love, understanding and knowledge.

METHOD

A longitudinal and descriptive study was carried out on climacteric and menopause stages. From a universe of 113 women, a sample of 60 women was taken in the ages of 45-55 years, constituting 67.8%, belonging to the Medical Office No. 197 of the Community Teaching Polyclinic Hermanos Cruz in the months of January to July 2003.

As part of the study a very well structured survey was applied , made according to the proposed objectives, which allowed us to investigate different variables such as: Concepts of Climacteric and Menopause, Clinical manifestations that they presented, ways by which they obtained the information, among others.

At the end of the survey the women were offered a series of recommendations with the purpose of making this stage more pleasant and better tolerated by them, as well as the beginning of a new stage.

The data were processed through the application of the percentage method, reflected in arithmetic tables that facilitated the presentation, analysis and discussion of the same.
